Wise Financial Management - by David Mills (Feb. 11, 2012)
GETTING HEALTHIER FINANCIALLY IN 2012
Among resolutions made for the new year, many financial advisors recommend a resolution to get healthier financially in 2012. They urge everyone burdened with debt to resolve to pay down their debts, especially credit cards with high interest rates. They also recommend that, once out of debt, dedicate yourself to saving regularly, practice wise money management habits, and avoid falling into debt again.
Faithful tithing: Wise financial management begins with faithful tithing to God (Proverbs:3:9-10[9]Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:[10]So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine., Malachi:3:8-12[8]Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.[9]Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.[10]Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.[11]And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.[12]And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.). Be sure to read our booklet, "What Does the Bible Teach About Tithing?" You can read it online or request a free printed copy at www.ucg.org/booklets. With obedience in tithing and wise money management, it is possible to become healthier financially in 2012.
