Encouraging Words for Troubled Times - by David Mills (Dec. 17, 2011)

In the midst of a storm, there is a great need for encouraging words. On his voyage to Rome with 276 people on board, Paul found himself in a violent storm. Neither the sun nor the stars appeared for many days, and "all hope that we would be saved was finally given up." It was at this point that an angel of God told Paul not to be afraid and that everyone would be saved. Paul was able to deliver this good news to all on board, and he encouraged them to eat food for nourishment. Sure enough, even though there was a total loss of the ship and its cargo, everyone survived, and Paul eventually completed his journey to Rome. You can read the entire story in Acts 27-28.
Encouraging words for today: In our time a violent storm is brewing - we hear about it every day. Today's world is heading for a shipwreck, but we have some encouraging words for these troubled times! God's plan is to bring all mankind to a safe haven and for everyone to be saved. God has opened some huge doors for us to give this good news to the world. Please continue to pray and to help take this encouraging message into all the world!
